Bustin' Out Babies giveaway

To celebrate the new year and try to breathe some life into this dusty blog, I thought a giveaway was in order.

That, and I am doing a bit of organizing now that Christmas decorations have been put away and it's time to start fresh. Ahem.

I found the following DVDs that I enjoyed watching but which I no longer need to keep, so I am giving them away. Yes, they are pre-owned. But still very watchable.

The Happiest Baby on the Block

This DVD will show you some tricks for helping babies to calm down or stop crying during that "fourth trimester."

Bringing Baby Home

If you are a new parent and terrified you will break your baby within the hour of getting him or her home, this goes over the basics of baby care. Nothing more, nothing less.

Toolbox for New Dads

A fatherhood expert talks man to man about baby stuff and makes it seem less mystifying. You can see my review about this DVD here.

I also have a novel, which is brand new and direct from the press:

The Book of Mom

This is the story of a stay-at-home mom who is trying to figure out where her life went and how to find "inward and outward balance."

I'd like to give all of these items as a package to a new parent! It could be yourself, a relative or friend. Just leave a comment and mention who you would give these goodies to. I'll let pick a winner next Monday.

And if you or a blogger you know is expecting or adopting a baby, please check out my Bustin' Out Babies list of bloggers anticipating a joy bundle.

Good luck!

I would give these to my very best friend's little sister who just had her first (and likely only) child a couple of months ago.

I would give these to ME! My 'fourth trimester' is frighteningly close and I can use whatever I can get my hands on. I would likely donate them to my midwife practice once I no longer need them :)

I would pass them on to a friend of mine who is about to have her first baby.

Happy New Year!

It's good to do some cleaning out.

I need to get off the computer and go start reading that book you lent me!!

Please, pick me! Pick me!! I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and need all of the help that I can get. :)

I also love VeryGood's idea about donating the package to a clinic once we're finished. There is a great women's shelter in my area that we are fundraising for, and I'm sure they would love it.

(Keeping my fingers crossed),

I don't know any "new" parents, but wanted to say what a sweet giveaway you're having. I think a first time parent would be truly blessed by these items.

My cousin is expecting, but I might read these first as we are planning for a baby in the near future!

You already have Christmas packed away? I'm impressed. My house is in holiday shambles still.

What a nice giveaway! No newbies in my area at this time. Best of luck to others leaving comments.

How bizarre. I'm hoping this isn't a sign from God. I found you via Scribbit's write in contest. Check out my blog today to see why this post frightens me just a little. :)

You don't have to enter me in the giveaway (these resources look like they are geared to the first-time parent...), but I just wanted to chime in and say that I really enjoyed Harvey Karp's DVD. He offers some excellent pointers about how to calm babies in those first few weeks/months.
