Wardrobe Wednesday
What I'd wear today if I could: this ensemble by Trina Turk. Sigh. In fact, I wish I were this woman today. I'd take it all: the hair, the eyes, the drink, the billowy curtains behind her. But Flybaby likes to pull on hair and necklaces too much. And I probably couldn't hold him in one arm and the drink in my other hand. Oh well, a mom can dream....

My lord! Do you hold the baby ALL THE TIME? Do you never go anywhere without him? Does he never nap? Never stay with a sitter (or grandma, close friend, etc.) so you and JP can have a date? I know from your posts that this isn't true.
All babies--so it would seem, based on my experience, anyway--like to grab hair, glasses, necklaces, earriings whatever. Hair can be pulled back, necklaces can be avoided, and earring choices can be limited to posts and buttons that are difficult to grab sure, but unless you're holding that baby 24/7, you don't have to limit your wardrobe, accessories and hairstyle to what's "baby-proof!"
I have long hair and didn't get contacts until my oldest was about 8. I pulled my hair back now and then (still do), but not all the time (and I wasn't about to get it cut because then I wouldn't be able to pull it back!).
Flybaby might be slightly on the young side when it comes to teaching "no" wrt hair or necklace grabbing, but he'll catch on before long.
You CAN wear that look if you want to. :)
Thanks for that, Margie! I appreciate it. I don't hold Fly *all* the time -- maybe it just feels like it!
I love that color--it makes you look so tan--and the look is such a chic retro. Reminds me of twiggy meets my 80s bubble skirts.
Big sigh indeed, that outfit is for nonmommies. One can dream. I do love that look!
Lancelot likes to pull hair and necklaces, too! I'm going to the doctor today, and Aunt J is coming over to watch him, so I'm getting myself all dolled up just because I can. lol! I'll wear a necklace, I'll carry a purse instead of a diaper bag, and I shall let my hair flow free!
