Flatter me, and you just might get hugged

At the playground, I met a woman with a 12-month-old boy who is expecting. We ended up talking about ultrasounds and to-amnio-or-not-to-amnio, which I'm familiar with because I had Fly past the magical age of 35.

So she asks the inevitable: "How old are you?"

"Mumble mumble," I said.

"Oh, I'm a year older than that!" she said. "I thought you were in your late 20s!"

"Bless you!" I said.

And even though she was a complete stranger, I hugged her.

OK. I just looked at your photo quite closely, and if you are over 35, I want whatever is in YOUR water! :)

That compliment would keep me smiling for days I think. Not that I would know, because no one would mistake me for in my twenties for sure!

Hugs are good for everyone! Even strangers - especially when they compliment you like that! :) And by the said that you've tried to reply to my comments by email before...well, I accidentally had the wrong email address in my blogger profile (OOPS!!), so it shouldn't bounce back to you anymore now. And look gorgeous - I actually thought you were younger too!!

I think I would have asked her out on a date if she said that to me.

Did I know you are old like me? I was just at our dear friend Jen's blog and marveled how she is still in her early 20s!

Okay I wondered about those Sun Passes, when I saw the signs on the toll lanes--but don't you at least get a bargain if you buy it that way? I hoped that you'd at least get a discount or something, the idea of paying five bucks a day to drive to work and back seems crazy. THough that sand and sun was pretty darn appealing, maybe it's worth at least five bucks a day . . .

And yes, we're completely pasty :)

I only burn--the only exception is Lillian who though I slathered her up with sunblock got serious tan lines like magic. She's got my Dad's tanning genes.
