Blog Party: New favorite toys!

Welcome back to the party! It' s Monday, but that's no excuse to stop partying. We're on a roll now! This party is going to last all week.

People at parties love to talk about their new "toys," whether it's their new Wii system, cell phone, bread machine or facial steamer. (Yes, I've been to a party where someone talked about her facial steamer.)

Well, Flybaby wants to share his new favorite toys, sent to him from the nice folks at School Zone Publishing. They have a new line for babies, and Fly was more than happy to try out the Infant Magnetic Peek-a-Boo Bunny Guess Who cards and the Fuzzy Animal Friends Clever Baby Cards. Flybaby loves the Fuzzy Animal Friends cards, especially the crocodile with the googly eyes (which has held up really well to the chewing -- see Fly's two bottom teeth?):

These cards are so cute! And appropriately named, because they are clever -- the swan's neck

becomes the monkey's tail on the other side of the card

(No, that's not something special on the monkey's butt. Just the camera flash.)

These cards are created for babies six months and up, so they are just perfect for Fly, who will turn six months old this week!

The Peek-a-Boo Bunny cards are for babies nine months and up, but that didn't deter Flybaby from playing. Nope, not at all!

I think he will appreciate them more in a few months. The idea of the cards -- which are magnetic and slightly stick to the main card -- feature a bunny who can play peek-a-boo:

You place the cards on the main bunny card. Like this one: "Peek-a-boo! Who lives in the pond?" On the other side of the card is a flap with a frog on it. "Frog lives in the pond!" And you move the bunny's feet away from his eyes to play peek-a-boo. There are six cards like that.

Flybaby likes the cards because sometimes, his attention span is still too short for me to read a full book, and yet I can read the cards to him and play with him with these colorful, tactile cards!

So thanks for stopping by on the party. What are some of your little ones' favorite new toys?

What a great way to get some of that dreaded "tummy time"! And Flybaby is so cute - I do see those teeth!

My 2 year old is all about coming up with new uses for old toys. This weekend she grabbed her old cow, goat and chicken figures and informed me that the cow was the daddy and the goat was the mommy.

"They gonna get married."

The wedding was held at her Fisher-Price crib aquarium (now next to her toddler bed).

The chicken ("baby") was forbidden to attend, but Z informed me that she was babysitting the baby. They would play stickers and glitter glue and then baby/chicken would go night-night.
