What I'd Wear Wednesday: La Perla
What I'd wear today if I could: well, it's what I'd wear tonight. Since Fly was born, I've gotten used to wearing long pajama bottoms, a tee, socks and even sometimes a robe when I go to bed. But now that I don't have to get out of bed two times a night for an hour each time and brave the cold temperature my husband sets the thermostat at every night (don't ask), I'd like to feel some slippery silkiness next to my skin rather than something in fuzzy cotton. Because WIWW is mostly a dream list of the unobtainable kind, I can indulge myself here in the top lingerie: La Perla. For example, this $468 slip. Heavenly, and completely unobtainable. Anything silky would do, but if you're going to wish, then wish big.This might also work:

I'm willing to entertain the idea of other upscale lingerie companies. Anyone?

I'm going to hide under a rock after saying this, but when I was living in Germany, I went to an outlet mall. There was a La Perla store, and I am now the proud owner of a La Perla nightgown... that I have worn once. Maybe once The Boy stops nursing I can wear it? LOL!

It is so important to indulge in pretty panties! I mean not in $500 dollar lingerie, but just wearing it once in awhile. It's so easy to lose that connection with our sexy mama side while raising a family. But, it's even nice to reconnect with it. Thanks for the inspiration!

I purchased a piece of lingerie from Victoria's Secret last summer and have worn it once. I *hated* how it bunched around my body whenever I turned over in bed. I'd much rather sleep in long pants and a t-shirt.
Or . . . perhaps the purpose of pretty lingerie is to not do a whole lotta sleeping. ;-)

I bought a simple black strappy nightgown at Target a while back. It is cotton, but really soft. Did I mention I love it and it was cheap? Of course I realize this is about what you would wear if you could...

I too wear the pjama bottoms and t-shirt. And i've just invested in my first ever robe, as I prepare to put the 2nd born in his own room, and anticipate much getting up and down :/
