Where's my lullabye?

Tuesday, Oct. 24:

Almost three total hours of sleep last night! Please, please -- try not to be jealous of my luxurious rest.

The hardest thing for me about new mamahood is getting up in the night to take care of Flybaby. (The second-hardest is nursing.) The Baby Whisperer plan for sleep doesn't always work.

I guess Fly didn't read the sleep chapter.

My kid didn't read it either. I have gotten to the point where I cherish any cuddles - even the middle of the night because I get all emotional when I think about the say when he doesn't want them so much...take what you can get!

How's the nursing going now?

I'll come over and watch Flybaby so you can take a nap-- or you can bring him over here, so if he gets fussy you won't hear him. :) I'd be happy to help out!

Baby Whisperer has some good ideas, but end of the day, you have to follow your instincts, because, yes, the babies don't read the books, they just do whatever the hell they want.

(And, the BW chick? Easy enough for the families she was helping because they had her - the Sleep Nanny - staying up all night to train their babies. Different story when the sleep-deprived mom has to do it.)
