The dress bib concept
This past weekend, JP got up with Flybaby and fed him his cereal so I could sleep a bit. When I woke up, I was shocked to find which bib JP had put on Fly:
I had to set JP straight.
Me: Honey, um. This bib is really nice. It's one of Flybaby's dress bibs.
JP: "Dress bibs?"
Me: Yeah, see, it doesn't have any stains on it and the bear is made out of a sweater. I use it for when Fly has to look presentable. But for feeding him, it's better to use a bib that's already stained. Like this one:
JP: Well. As long as it doesn't involve him wearing a dress, OK....

hehe we used to totally have "good" bibs and not so good bibs!!
LOL. Isabella has "nice bibs" too. They're the ones I put her in when she's not eating carrots or sweet potatoes, or anything else that stains. I'm glad to know I'm not the only "bib-freak" mom out there!
I've given up on "nice bibs." We use plastic ones I can wipe clean after every meal.
HA HA HA! Now that is funny!
For feeding Lancelot, I use plastic bibs that can be wiped off, that way the nicer fabric bibs are saved from stains. They get drooled on, but no stains! lol!
Men... they never seem to notice those things.
I'm not sure my husband would have even remembered to use a bib!
We had plastic ones tht I used from time to time (particularly the larger ones), but they didn't seem very comfortable compared to the soft ones made from washclothes. I think I used the cloth ones more often, regardless of stains. At least when we were eating at home. On those rare occasions when we were eating out, I'm sure I brought a nicer bib. :)
I remember one outfit that actually came with a matching bib!
For my daughter I used the plastic bibs. For my son, those terry cloth ones.
I never found a use for those bibs...my sister-in-law used that type for drool-catchers but I didn't want to cover their cute outfits. So, I have a ton of "good bibs" that have never been used!
