You're right about that. Most of this stuff came from my mother and sister. It was gift after gift for Flybaby -- what did I get? A candle!

Yup-my pile looks similar. I haven't even begun to sort through it all. I'm so glad your little guy is so spoiled!

You've got a large pile of toys there. Make that HUGE. My relatives spoil my kids, I was rather grateful when some of it broke already.

Just remember that you can take the batteries out of many toys and they are still fun. One of my sisters got Harry a what I can only describe as horrendous monstrosity. I took it and hit it immediately so he would not get attached. You are lucky Flybaby is still too young to understand that mommy is hiding his toys.

I tell myself it has to last until their birthdays. Some of it gets shelved and pulled out later. Now I need to go find my kids, they're somewhere buried under all their toys.

Ooh, what Awesome Mom said. Listen to that wise advice and take out the batteries before your child is old enough to know better.

And from everything I've been hearing, it gets worse before it gets better!

Oh, how I miss the days when people inundate you with gifts. When my daughter was born, my mother bought her entire winter wardrobe! Let's just consider how wealthy I would be if she would only continue doing that for BOTH of my children! Something tells me it isn't going to happen! Enjoy the loot!

It is hard to resist that stuff, isn't it? I love the advice about no batteries!

Yup. He does.

By the way, you can take up the Mother of All Memes. Go see http://somethingbabyblue.blogspot.com/ for the latest installment, then kick it back to me to finish!

Merry Christmas!
